Arrived in Norfork on Monday right at dark. Made the trip from MS by myself with no incidents. Tuesday was the perfect day for fishing. It was cloudy, cold and threatening rain!!! They shut the Fork down about 6 a.m. so I hit the river at about 8 leaving just enough water to make the trip down river easy. Landed just below Long Hole and started slingin’. It wasn’t a great day number wise but some pretty decent fish.
Took Wednesday off as they were going to run a bit more water and got a few things done around the house and went to town.
Thursday was back at it they didn’t cut the water off until about 9 so it was a little after noon before the water fell out enough to make wading productive. Had some good results. Met Steve from Indiana and we fished together for a little while. I got a nice brown close to 19 inches a good cutt and a number of bows. I left Steve and moved further down stream where fishing was pretty slow.
Friday I did the walk-in to Cooks island. What a beautiful day! The river was foggy, it was cold, ice in the rod guides and had the plce to myself for about three hours. Then the crowds moved in so i left at noon. It was some pretty good fishing. had a great time.
Headed home Saturday.
