The plane ride can be half the fun. Get a window seat on the co-pilot side flying up from Seattle. Window seat on the pilot side flying south. From Dallas or St. Paul it can be a toss up. If the weather is nice it is beautiful.  

 

This is headed North out of Anchorage on the Parks Highway.

Paxson – grayling country. 

This is North, way North of Anchorage , on the Richardson Highway at Paxson. Paxson is the east end of the Denali Highway Cantwell is on the west end.

My grandson got his first fish, a grayling, on the Tangle River on the Denali Highway.
